Ingredients (serves 4):

200g (8 stems) of gai lin (Chinese broccoli)
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tbsp garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger, minced

Directions:

1. Combine the oyster sauce, sugar and 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.

2. Boil the Chinese broccoli in a large pot of water until tender yet crisp, approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Drain, rinse under cold water, and pat dry if necessary before transferring to a plate.

3. Heat a  saucepan over medium heat until hot. Add oil of choice, garlic and ginger. Stir a few times until fragrant.

4. Turn to low heat. Add the oyster sauce mixture and stir immediately. When the sauce becomes fragrant, after 10 to 20 seconds, pour the oyster sauce over the Chinese broccoli. Serve immediately as a side dish. Enjoy!
