Raw Organic Cacao (as opposed to Cocoa) contains high amounts of flavonoids and antioxidants. A rich source of magnesium, helpful for lowering blood pressure and maintaining cardiovascular health, amongst many other things! It’s high in iron and is a natural mood and energy elevator because it contains PEA (phenylalanine). One study listed in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (see below) shows that Cacao improves endothelial function, and reduces blood pressure and LDL levels. At the same time, it increases HDL levels and insulin sensitivity.

Ingredients (serves 2):

3 cup Water
1 cup Canned Coconut Milk (full fat)
2 tbsps Butter
2 tbsps Cacao Powder
1 oz Collagen Powder
1 tsp Monk Fruit Sweetener

Directions:

1. Bring the water and coconut milk to a slow boil.

2. Add to a blender along with the rest of the ingredients and blend until frothy.

3. Add more sweetener if desired. Pour into a mug and enjoy!
